
Medical Expert Witness


In addition to his clinical work, Dr Rahul Mukherjee is a specialist cardiology expert witness. He holds the CUBS Civil Expert Witness Certificate and provides independent medico-legal opinion in civil and coronial matters.
Dr Mukherjee’s clinical practice encompasses general cardiology, heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias), cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiac risk assessment, inherited cardiac conditions, sports cardiology and the assessment and prevention of sudden cardiac death. His dual focus on advanced imaging and complex arrhythmia management enables him to offer comprehensive and contemporary insight into a wide range of cardiac conditions.

As an expert witness, Dr Mukherjee aims to deliver reports that are clear, balanced, and evidence-based, addressing issues of diagnosis, causation, management, and prognosis. His opinions are grounded in active clinical practice and current national and international guidelines.

Dr Mukherjee has particular experience in the evaluation of unexplained cardiac symptoms, rhythm disturbances, ECG interpretation, imaging findings, fitness to work/drive in cardiac conditions, missed or delayed cardiac diagnoses, assessment and evaluation of procedural complications in catheter ablation or pacemaker implantation, consent, communication and standards of care as well as the cardiovascular implications of medication or exertion. His expertise in sports cardiology supports the assessment of cardiac screening, fitness to participate, and cardiac risk in athletic populations.

He accepts instructions from solicitors acting for both claimant and defendant, as well as from coroners. Dr Mukherjee is committed to the highest standards of professionalism, impartiality, and clarity in all aspects of his expert witness work.
